Morris enters Navy recruit training in San Diego
Martin Morris son of Mr and Mrs Don Morris has joined the Navy and departed for recruit training at the San Diego center. He enrolled as a seafarer airman near prograny and will spend nine weeks followed by two weeks in fireman apprentice training after graduating Columbus High School. Survivors Rescued After Cascade Crash Near Seattle
Two survivors, Mrs. Marilyn Foos and pilot Gregory Bennett, endured five hours in wreckage and fifty hours of rescue efforts after a twin-engine Cessna crash in the Cascade foothills southeast of Seattle. Foos and Bennett were hospitalized in serious but stable condition with multiple injuries, while the bodies of Foos’s husband Paul and two others were recovered. The crash occurred during a storm en route from central Washington to Seattle, and rescue teams faced brutal weather and terrain before locating the site.
