Columbus High used a rapid second quarter run to pull away and beat Grand Island 70 to 59 in the Gast Big Ten Conference game. Teamer Paul Potter and Rocke Senkbeil led Columbus with 18 and 16 points respectively, while Grand Island’s Tom Trieschman scored 22 in a high scoring loss.

Garden City tops Platte College 88 76 in invitational

Garden City Kansas defeated Platte College 88 to 76 in the Cloud County Invitational semi final. Platte’s stars Kincaid and Trader were held well below their averages while Garden City got 16 from Kincaid and 12 from Tradler. Wesolowski and Worny added 11 and 10 for Platte.
