The Legislature voted to kill LB1038 a constitutional proposal to abolish the sales tax on food purchases. Sen. Terry Carpenter of Scottsbluff introduced it last session and pressed for a vote during the afternoon, while Sen. Richard Proud of Omaha labeled the measure “that nasty bill” and moved to kill it. Feeders Day Set at Wisner Tuesday
