Top awards presented at Nebraska Holstein meeting
Mr and Mrs Marlon Conlon of Auraria received the top honor at the Nebraska Holstein-Friesian Association annual meeting held Thursday. The Condons were recognized for a nine year old cow that produced 28 080 pounds of milk 971 pounds of butterfat and 2301 pounds of prolcn lactose and mineral in one year. Two youths Linda Marlin of Arlington and Lowell L Mueller of Hooper were also honored for dairy project work and 4-H and FFA involvement. Linda 18 owns six purebred Holsteins and has produced 1906 1970 milk work totaling 7177 dollars. Lowell 18 is a seven year FFA member and has a small herd valued at 11105 dollars and won the 1970 National FFA Gold Emblem Award. Also noted SLIDES Leigh Mrs Elmer Hake will present a slide talk on Travels of Nebraska for the Leigh Woman s Club meeting at the club house Tuesday evening. Mrs Elmer Wardeman with leader Mrs Ernest Spanhake hostess.
