End of Genoaill as Marmion Road shift in 1859
In 1859 emigration along Marmion Road surged due to Utah War and Colorado gold, boosting Genoa settlement until August when Agent Gilles ordered Mormons to abandon Genoa. Mormons moved to Zig Hag, Indians arrived September, and a prairie fire around November ended most Mormon activity. Four houses spared before families moved on.

Kudrna couple marks 37th wedding year celebration
Guests of Mr and Mrs Lloyd Kudrna dined Sunday to honor their 37th wedding anniversary.
