Two Men Die in Westwood Shootout

In Westwood Massachusetts a West Point graduate and a police officer were shot to death Tuesday night. Another officer was wounded and the alleged gunman Armand Therrien 44 was injured critically. Patrolman William E Sheehan 57 led the local force and is named among the dead. Capt John Oi 29 is believed killed at Northeastern University.

South Koreans vote in controversial Park referendum

Millions ignored calls to boycott and cast ballots on Park Chung hee s two year constitutional plebiscite. Officials said turnout hovered near half of eligible voters with Seoul lowest at about 60 percent. Park cast his ballot with his daughter as opposition leaders denounced the vote as rigged and vowed further pressure.
