United Press International reports a fist and chair clash at Rutherford High School in Panama City involving about 50 students led to the closure of the high school and nearby Eyeritt Junior High. 17 students, including two girls, were arrested and may face aggravated assault charges. The school board met in emergency session and agreed to hire black assistant principals across six secondary schools.
