James Fryer accused in the shotgun killings of four Sioux Falls teens has been ordered turned over to Iowa authorities pending a habeas corpus hearing Monday. Municipal Judge Robert Patterson ruled that if Fryer’s illegal-holding claim is denied, he will be sent to Lyon County Iowa Sheriff Craig Vinson. Fryer, 21, is one of three brothers charged in the murders at Gitchie Manitou State Park near Sioux Falls. He was held in the Minnehaha County Jail after completing a 90 day term for an attempted burglary on January 10.
United Methodist Church women met in the church fellowship room with Vicar the Rev. Lester Anderson speaking on rural America and Tri-Valley parish churches. Ruby Mehaffey led a memorial service for two deceased members Maude Swanson and Mable Reynoldson. World Day of Prayer set for March 1 at 2 pm at First Baptist. A mother and son banquet scheduled for March 27 at Methodist Church. Mrs Mehaffey announced 157 members in attendance.
