Body found in hill country near Gering Nebraska
Authorities in Bluse County are examining a man's body found in the hill country southwest of Gering. The body was discovered Monday by two children. Further details were not immediately available.

Plane lands in Egypt with gunmen who held hostages
A Pakistani airliner landed in Cairo with three gunmen who had held two hostages aboard a Greek freighter in Karachi. The hostages were freed after the Greek government promised to commute death sentences for two Palestinian terrorists. The gunmen sought Libya and were met by Libyan and Egyptian ambassadors. Five children die in Fort Thompson SD blaze
Five children perished when a fire destroyed a home near the Fort Thompson Police Station on the Crow Creek Reservation in central South Dakota. The victims, all children of Caroline Middle Tent, were Ruth 14 Janelle 7 Loren 4 and Kelvin 1 and Jewel Crazy Bull 5.
