Taxpayer toll free help expanded in Nebraska offices

Nebraska taxpayers gain a new upgraded toll free telephone system at the Federal Office Building in Omaha. State trooper and youth honored in Omaha ceremony

The Metropolitan Law Enforcement Association honored Kent Roumpf of Nebraska City for outstanding service and 19 year old Chris M. Madsen of Omaha with civlian award. Roumpf aided in a February gun battle with parole violator W. D. Watsonis who was shot dead. Madsen chased a purse snatcher after hearing a scream last December. Numerous local traffic incidents and damages are listed with restitution amounts and locations.

Warns about cards containing lottery tickets in Omaha

In Omaha a federal warning advised disposing of Christmas cards printed with lottery tickets tied to a West Indies hospital sweepstakes. Three deaths on highways in Nebraska toll rises

Bible clue sought in death of Fort Washington boy

MIAMI Fla AP police investigate links between a missing Bible page and the throat slaying of Arnold Zeleznik, 9, in a motel. Detectives will compare the Bible to another to hunt clues as Ver nal Walford, 31, alias Robert Grant, is charged with first degree murder after the boy’s body was found in a motel bathroom. The Zeleznik family was en route to Costa Rica when the incident occurred.
