Mrs. Loyd of Albion hosted the annual Christmas meeting of the American Home Club at her home Thursday night. Co-hostess was Mrs. Phillis Michel with guest Mrs. Herman Schuyadeke. Members shared first Christmas recollections and exchanged gifts. Bridge winner was Mrs. Roger Woods. The Bicentennial committee announced planting a tree or shrubbery on the Boone County courthouse lawn in 1978. Ramona Cookes will ghost the club January 0 with Mrs. Jack Conrad.
The U S Air Force recruiting office for the area has moved to 10 East 23rd Street Alco Plaza Fremont. S Sgt Jack Sauvageau invites interested persons to visit or call 721-8021. A ribbon cutting is set for 9 30 a m Friday.
Agnes Walter led games at the Friendship Circle Club gathering hosted by Mrs. Wd Ritter last week in Creston. Prizes were won by Mrs. Hulda Boning and Mrs. David Zimmerman. Zimmerman served as program leader and ace accompanist for caroling.
CRESTOW mr and Mrs Elmer Heesly were honored at a housewarming Saturday night hosted by her parents Mr and Mrs Milton Scheffler. Guests included Herbert Hofmann Terry Scheffler and family Hodney Paul of Columbus and other relatives. Sunday visitors to Mr and Mrs Dennis Kilénstein included Ervin Jacob and sons Leroy Russell and Larry and daughter Jolene from Omaha.
Washington AP UPI says the FAA head John McLucas told a House subcommittee that 158 near misses occurred in the first ten months. He noted only 21 of 207 involved FAA controlled planes, with the rest military or private. He described anonymous reporting for pilots and a radar collision prediction system at major centers.
The Albion Delta Card Bridge Club held its annual Christmas dinner at the Country Club on Thursday. Four tables played bridge with Carroll Reid and Mrs. Jack Lough taking high score and Richard Pitner and Mrs. Carroll Reid earning second high.
