In Lincoln, State Sen. Frank Levis of Bellevue opposes any increase in Nebraska gasoline tax and calls for reevaluating highway plans due to energy and mass transit needs. He says it is ridiculous to push highway building when cars lack gas. Highway Advisory Commission member David Brestow of Lincoln supports raising the tax from 8 to 10 cents per gallon.
