Hijacked TWA jet lands in Philadelphia after Cuba detour
A Trans World Airlines Boeing 707 on a San Francisco to Philadelphia route with 27 aboard diverted to Cuba after a hijack by a knife wielding man identified only as B Hamilton. The flight, Flight 54, landed at Philadelphia International Airport at 5 00 am after a stop in Miami for customs. A passenger said the hijacker left the plane in Havana. Hostess Barbara Smithdeal sustained minor cuts. FBI began questioning crew and passengers as the plane's captain and crew prepared a news conference.
