Nebraska traffic deaths rose to 221 for the year as Gerald J. Guernsey 19 of Linwood and Jesse D. Palmer 26 of Grand Island died from recent crashes. Guernsey’s pickup left State Spur 12 B at Bruno and plunged into a creek bed around 2 a.m. with a 12 hour delay before discovery. Palmer died in a Grand Island hospital after injuries from a August 12 two car collision northeast of Grand Island involving Paul Woods 21 and Ronald Knoepfel 21 both of Grand Island.
