State Sen. Clifton Batchelder of Omaha called Gov Norbert Tiemann's role in the current spending spree asinine during a Lincoln press stop opening his campaign headquarters at 8 South 11th Street. Albion hosts its annual Fine Arts Festival at the Vets Club on April 29 and 30. The event features arts and crafts displays from area schools and residents, plus musical entertainment. Raymond Haggstrom will speak Thursday night, with viewing sessions from 2 to 9 p.m. on both days. Mrs. James Wolf serves as festival chair.

Social hour followed with refreshments by Mrs M A Benedict and Ja Anne Napier.
Miss Kathleen Casey was guest of honor at a miscellaneous bridal shower Friday evening in the St Francis Church parlors. The bride to be’s mother Mrs Joseph Casey of Lincoln attended as a guest, Eloise Rollman and Juke registered guests, and door prizes were won by Mrs Ollie German Mrs Alvin Reichmuth and Chevy Reichmuth. After games the honoree opened gifts. Miss Casey will wed Tom Rollman in Lincoln in June.
The Omaha Bar Association tabled a motion that would have questioned the U S Constitutionality of federal actions. Ephriam Marks presented the resolution, sparking about an hour of debate before President Jack Marer declared it carried by a slim majority. Marks said the aim was to stir interest in judiciary trends locally and nationally.
