Monday receipts: cattle and calves 8,500 hogs 8,000 sheep 500.
Ruth Brichack of Columbus gave an arts and crafts lesson at the Leigh Women’s Club. Garden Club plans a rummage sale with pie and coffee April 28 to benefit the club, while a focal nursery will replace plantings at the clubhouse. An Ainsworth man, 27 year old Robert C. Baxter, was hospitalized after a one vehicle accident two miles south of the Platte River Bridge on Highway 15. Deputy Sheriff Merle Hlavac said Baxter's pickup veered off the road when the steering failed, the vehicle leaving the roadway. Damage to the pickup was not reported.
