Youth tells how he aided a bombing in Omaha trial
Omaha witness Duane Peak testified in the first degree murder trial of David Rice and Edward Poindexter, describing how he planted a booby trap bomb that killed Patrolman Larry Minard and injured others. Peak said he helped rig three dynamite charges in a suitcase and planted them at a near north side home, then went home to sleep, learning of the explosion the next day. He also detailed his movements on August night, including phone calls and meeting at his sister’s house before returning to sleep. Halley's comet is noted to appear again in 1985 or 1986.
