Fred Laéas, an Indiana man, left Arizona in custody to answer allegations that he defrauded a Lucas Count man of a large sum. He and his father Thomas J were involved in an abstract business and raised loans against property. The event follows his recent arrival from Papago. A funeral service is announced for Mrs. H. F. Senatfer in St Louis Crossings, with services at Moravia church.

Clyde Markland of Orinoco was appointed by postmaster Thomas Rush to the Columbus post office night mailing clerk position succeeding the deceased Havens. His teachers say his studious habits earned the appointment, and officials predict satisfaction for patrons. Insurance firms holding risks totaling $20,000 on the late Dr. W A Dunn of Wabash Ind have refused payout due to insufficient proof of death. Dunn died in March at Naples Italy from Roman fever and his body was shipped home with minimal disclosure. Certificates were sent but insurers demand absolute evidence of his oath.
Jap Miller a Martinsville merchant made a voluntary assignment Monday to Simeon Scruggs Liabilities 2000. The note says Jap was thought to be riding out hard times and mentions his friendship with Jas Whitcomb Riley and a poem Riley wrote about Jap.
Nine months old Edna Kennedy, daughter of Daisy Gillsepie, died at noon Wednesday at her grandfather George Gillespie's home. Rev Curtiss conducted the three o'clock funeral from the residence and the burial followed at the city cemetery.
The state board of medical examiners has sent license blanks to county clerks and physicians. The board will begin issuing licenses this week and over the next six weeks it expects to be very busy as licenses are processed under the new law.
Mrs Schwartzer in San Francisco reveals she saw Minnie Williams with Rev Gibson of the Alameda ferry boat on April 12, 1895 the day before the body was found. She notes Gibson’s clerical appearance a basket and concern for the girl and recalls Gibson’s neck scars and ears as identifying features. She later speaks up after Theodore Durrant’s death sentence and move to San Quentin.
Washington reports that W H Everroad & Sons of Columbus Indiana won the bid to build cement approaches for the new Richmond Kentucky post office. The price is 2757 dollars 97 cents as the lowest bid among national competitors. Construction will begin once the government officially accepts the bid.

About two years ago Frank Hill colored of Edinburg faced indictments for stealing a bicycle. He escaped custody but was rearrested by Sheriff Weddle at Anderson and brought to Franklin on the nine o clock train this morning and placed in the county jail. Ed Call notes Hill is well known in this city where he has worked off and on for years. The 4:40 train yesterday morning was over ten minutes late.
