Miss Catherine Buck heads the millinery department showcasing Easter season hats with many assistants attracting a large female audience despite bad weather.

Joseph I Irwin and son Will of Irwins bank were in Hope on business Friday evening. Prof Geo W Thompson and wife traveled to Columbus Friday. Mrs Margaret Kennedy spent Wednesday and Thursday in Columbus. The Rainbow Panta sale by Stahlhuth is claimed to be best.
Sid Meyers of Cincinnati is in town while others visit or travel to Indianapolis, North Vernon, Franklin, and Shelbyville. Residents and visitors named include Mrs J W Vawler, Miss Nellie Culp, Mrs Maggie McGormack, Mr Charles Murray family, and Geo Pence Jr as well as special agent GA Barguson and J M Hutchins.
Young people held a masked ball in the Jackson Club rooms with Schnur's orchestra providing music. A large number of couples danced late into the night.
In town, Geo Kinney's lunch room serves fried mush, chicken, beans, cake, and pie with Friday night entertainment in the grocery department. IL Lehman’s offers free food today, while the Citizens Telephone Co plans a phone line to J W Fulwider on Fifth St. Dr W F Norton of Flatrock visited for professional business yesterday. Noah Howe of North Washington St has a five year old musician son and a three and a half year old daughter who sing and play together well.

The gold Democrats, silverites, and anti-Hunter Republicans formed a quorum break at yesterday’s joint Legislature session. Reports say one of the six anti-Hunter Republicans is wavering after an open address last night, where they criticized the Cumberland County statesman in a harsh tirade reported by the Courier Journal.
Local friends urged the R. R. Y M C A to present the Mystic Midgets at Crump's Opera House on Saturday night instead of the afternoon matinee. The annual juvenile production features nearly a hundred Columbus children and will be shown tonight and tomorrow night with no matinee.
Fred Dahn conducts odorless vault cleaning in the city. Jos Young Maple Grove grocer provided music last evening for Mr Turpin and family. Dick Brinkley and family plan a move to Indianapolis after Dick takes a good position there. At the medical convention held Wednesday afternoon in the city Dr Brod was elected president with Dr F P Norton Petersville as vice president and Dr W C Ruland of this city as secretary.
In Columbus two coal cars were raided by thieves posing as the public. Railroad workers planned a ruse to trap the offenders but the supposed coal failed to burn and the loot turned out to be lumps of jute.
Columbus correspondent to the Indianapolis Journal reports no arrests for illegal fishing in Morgan county. John Chitwood says the reporter is mistaken about any arrests, noting no individuals have been called up in Franklin or Martinsville.
John Young of the north side vanished after last Monday when he and his wife packed their home. Mrs Young, who was near the river, found a piece of her husband’s pant leg and fears he may have drowned. The Young family includes seven children and his wife is frantically seeking him. An unrelated note mentions a large auction sale by G A Li involving ten tons of books.
Mrs Waltman and her daughter are visiting Franklin, spending time with local family and sightseeing in the town.
Ex-Sheriff Ruddick of Brown County toured the city yesterday. He owns Weed Patch Hill, cited as Indiana's highest point. George E. Ellis remains a hub for wallpaper, room mouldings, and related decor. An ad promotes No-To-Bac as a tobacco quit aid, with a Sterling Remedy Co. booklet offered free.
