The Ladies of the U B Church hosted a fried chicken supper last evening at Andy Shields home in Orinoco. Proceeds totaled over ten dollars, marking a successful community event.
Officers Ferguson and McCatp jailed Jamie Ready and Fredie Snyder last night on a charge of being drunk and disorderly. Each was seen trying to outshout the other by yelling the loudest.
Theodore Durant, convicted of strangling two girls in a San Francisco church belfry, is scheduled for execution tomorrow between sunrise and noon. Witnesses report he swore as the sentence was read and is believed to face the end with obstinacy.

Jackson Street property owners intend to ask the city council to pass an ordinance paving Jackson Street from Second to Seventh. If approved the street would become one of the citys most desirable residences.
A Chicago and Eastern Illinois passenger train collided with a milk train at Hammond Junction on eighty sixth street. Both trains at high speed. Six people hurt, engineer John Stoner gravely. Others lightly hurt but expected to recover.

Wesley Nading the Flatrock murderer moved through this city in charge of Dr Connely en route to the Central In sane Asylum at Indianapolis. He killed his wife and attempted suicide on Friday September 4. He has now recovered enough to be taken to the asylum but remains in poor health.
George Wilson after twenty five years confined in the Central In sane hospital is deemed unable and will be returned home to Rockcreek township. Attorney Charles H. Baker of this city is invited to judge the Decatur circuit court for the ill Judge Miller and accepts.
Farmers report mixed hickory nut yields with some saying plenty and others none. A week of frost rain and wind is expected to affect dropping trees and harvest timing as crews wait for the crop to fall and be gathered.
The Hoosier-Yukon Mining and Milling Company of Bloomington Ind is incorporated to explore Alaska gold fields. Judge H C Duncan a joint-senator from Brown and Monroe counties is listed as founder and director for the first year. The firm has sent two men to Hinska to begin operations.
