Postmaster John Harper and daughter Mrs Breeden of Versailles also departed to attend. G A R W R and Sons of Veterans with citizens' delegation joined the journey. Republicans of Nineveh township plan a May 28 convention for one delegate and a June 3 meeting for four delegates at No 1 schoolhouse. Pat Haggerty and C C Murray turned five men over to police for pickpocketing as about thirty arrests were made on suspected robbery charges.
The St Denis press banquet last night was a success with about sixty plates served. Landlord Tuttle was praised for an elegant supper and exceptional hospitality.
The article notes Seymour's role in mobilizing volunteers for a Columbus street fair. Columbus sent 1 500 people to swell the crowd while Seymour later sent 600 supporters to help make the encampment a success. The community thanks Seymour for her efforts.
