The Republican city committee, during its February 10 meeting, approved a delegate convention to nominate May 1898 city candidates. Delegates are allocated at one per 10 votes for McKinley plus one per fraction over five, yielding a multi-candidate slate with totals listed for each district, totaling the delegates and the required number for a choice.
