The Star reports Lonnie Cox of this city, son of attorney J F Cox, will leave for the Klondike early next spring. He is 17 and still in high school, going well equipped and likely to be gone about a year. Wood Shed Burgers are J A George's.

Skeleton found near Franklin and local bonds sold in county

An Indian skeleton was unearthed near Franklin with no clear burial signs. In Johnson County bonds totaling ten thousand dollars sold at five percent, with bids from Victor Smith Franklin National Bank and A C Thompson. Also noted: Seymour treasury holds $10 445 17, and Owensville bars liquor sales.

Indian Princess Matilda Shields Dies at 113

Mrs. Matilda Delilah Shields granddaughter of Indian chief Richard Henry Potomac dies in Washington at age 113. Born at the Indian Head proving grounds south of the city, she left a son and two daughters, thirty grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren, and lived in the area most of her life.

Fortier bus Insurance Man Henry Jones Promoted

Henry C. Jones, formerly of this city and known as an insurance agent and deputy auditor under John I. Sharp, is promoted from a 1400 to a 1600 dollar annual government post in the internal bureau, as reported by The Indianapolis News.

The Haitian minister Leger told the U S state department of alarming news from Port au Prince that the Haitian consul in Kingston Jamaica telegraphed two German warships sailed yesterday toward Port au Prince. Prof. W. R. Johnson sued Dr. John M. Dix for damages over a high board division fence. The Johnson circuit court sustained the defendant's demurrer and held the plaintiff had no action. The fence remains lawful.
