Jesse Watson Jr is under scrutiny as police connect him to a set of harness stolen from Joe Aults stable. The gear was recovered at William Knights home and Knight says he obtained it from Watson in exchange for a revolver. Sheriff Cox will continue the investigation.
Indiana Southern officials announce the Evansville and Richmond railway company is renamed the Southern Indiana railway company. The new name applies to the property today with officers listed including President J. R. Walsh and Secretary L. A. Walton. Offices are set at 185 Dearborn Street Chicago with operating offices in Bedford.
Louisville division officials claim a fastest one way service between Chicago and Louisville beats any Pennsylvania system route after stops. Fort Wayne Chicago to New York train covers 912 miles in 24 hours while Chicago to Louisville trains cover 300 miles in eight hours with stops. Supreme Court of California allows husband support by wife in certain cases with $24 monthly payment. Misses Mattie and Mary Kent visit Columbus relatives on Jackson Street.

Cards are issued for the marriage of Miss Laura Thompson and Rev. Garrel Quick of Rochester. The wedding takes place Friday evening in the home of the bride’s parents in Jersey City. Quick is a nephew of T. G. Quick and has many friends in Columbus.
Little John McCollough son of Robi McCollough and his wife has recovered from a serious scarlet fever illness. The quarantine has been lifted.

Dr S H Tagner, a minister of the Christian church, arrived from Greensburg and will occupy the Columbus pulpit tomorrow evening. He is noted for his famous fasts, including a 42 day fast in Minneapolis in 1877 and a second water abstention across fourteen days, gaining global renown and church invitations.

Rockville reports a murder at the Porter home twelve miles from Park County. James Stuur geon a prosperous farmer and stock dealer aged about forty was shot and killed by sixteen year old Harry Porter after a family dispute. Porter surrendered and awaits inquiry. Sturgeon leaves a widow and several children as excitement grips the town.
Patents issued today include Howard A. Ackerman of Indianapolis for a clothes-wringer clamp and James H. Auble of Lawrenceburg for motor mechanism for disposable presses. Frederickville and other patentees are also listed in the Franklin.
