Hon William Cooper died at his home in this city on the 16th inst. Born January 11, 1802 in Virginia and raised in Nashville Tennessee, he moved to north Alabama as a young man. He practiced law here sixty years and remained active until his death. He was one of the greatest lawyers in the state and was highly respected. The bar will meet today to pass resolutions on his decease.
