Passing of a Century Recited in 19th Century Oration
Mayme E. McCullough opened with The Passing of a Century, eight minutes of ornate prose praising 1800s progress. Lewis Clark Sims followed with Life The Old Old Story, a meditation on life’s stages from childhood to old age and the constant human quest.

Rain lifts spirits as farmers praise Monday precipitation aiding crops. Ira J. Smith returns north to negotiate for a new flying machine. Cemetery decorations by K P and Red Men draw largest crowds.
