Five More Policemen Discharged in Chicago Force

In Joliet Illinois on December 20 Governor Fifer pardoned Michael McDonough a seven year Rockford convict sick with consumption. The pardon reached Joliet after the prisoner had died around the same time the governor signed it. McDonoughs remains were sent to Beloit Wisconsin for burial.

In St Louis a 16 year old son Emile Guenther killed his father George A Guenther after years of alleged torture. The brother Charles Guenther described a 1884 torture chamber with chains a whipping post and needle wounds. Emile reportedly fled home at 15 then returned Tuesday prompting the fatal attack.

New Route Plans to Link Minneapolis to New York by Rail Water
