The West Deanery launches a two week par ish home visit drive to raise funds for a new high school to be built on a 40 acre Waterloo tract. Plans call for a three building complex for 400 students with expansion to 800, featuring science labs, home economics, cafeteria, library, auditorium and flexible classrooms. Senior Citizens Tour Grant's Farm by Bus
Sixty six members of the Senio Citizens of Columbia toured Grant's Farm on Tuesday June 15 traveling by bus. After the tour they bought sandwiches and were served refreshments. In the afternoon they visited the planetarium show. There will be no social meeting in June and the next Senior Citizens meeting will be Thursday July 8.

Oral Hazelwood 54 of Waterloo died suddenly of a heart attack at his Luhr Brothers Construction Co. office in Columbia. He was married to Ann Logan Hazelwood and survived by a son, two daughters, five grandchildren, a sister, and two brothers. The body will lie in state at Quernheim Funeral Home Waterloo after 1 pm Thursday with services at St. Paul United Church of Christ Friday. Burial in Kolmer Memorial Cemetery. He was born August 29, 1910 in Greene County Illinois.

He was a retired farmer, Levee Commission member, and church elder with survivors including a son, three daughters, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at St. John s United Church of Christ Maeystown with burial in Maeystown Cemetery. Sgt. Don R. Crowder 22 of East Carondelet died Saturday at Scott Air Force Base Hospital after three years ill. He is survived by his wife, daughter, parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
