Night Riders Murder Prominent Attorneys in West Tennessee
Special to The Herald from Memphis reports Judge R. Z. Taylor and Capt. Quintin Rankin, leading Trenton lawyers, were abducted by 35 masked night riders near Union City. Rankin was found shot and hanged. Taylor’s fate unclear. Gov. Patterson issued a $10,000 reward. Troop deployment discussed.
