Patterson Grants 30 Day Delay in Lincoln County Wife Murder Case

Nashville Tenn March 19 Gov Patterson issued a thirty day respite for C D Baird of Lincoln county convicted of wife murder and sentenced to hang March 28. Despite pleas to commute the sentence the governor found he could not and granted the delay to allow preparations to die.

Church Trial Postponed in Fayetteville Case

In Fayetteville Tennessee the Ira Landrith et al vs J L Hudgins et al church suit in chancery court was set for March 1 with judges from Columbia Nashville and Fayetteville. Defense lead lawyer Caldwell was absent ill. trial postponed to Thursday March 28 by agreement of all counsel.

Flood losses in Allegheny County total ten million

Pittsburg reports flood damage across Allegheny County totaling about ten million dollars. Losses include three million from mills, two million from other industries, one million eight hundred twenty seven thousand in wages, and two and a half million in plants. Water receded, bridges clearing, streetcars and rail service partly restored, with several railroad bridges damaged and two early morning fires linked to high water.
