Whittaker Sentenced After Nashville Custody Move

Sheriff Love Webb of Maury County moved the accused to prison following the Glendale station shooting. Whittaker, a 30 year old Black man, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to murder in Maury Circuit Court and received the maximum twenty one year term. The incident left ticket agent Doss Hancock badly wounded and nearly unrepairable. Webb noted public sentiment against Whittaker but said the transfer aimed to prevent vigilantism.

Bryant Cates aged 8 took a loaded pistol from a rack while parents were away. Albert, 10, attempted to take it, it discharged and struck baby sister Sue May, 11 months, killing her instantly. The accident occurred last Wednesday. burial held at Pisgah graveyard.

Spring Hill Tennessee March 10 The Spring Hill Board of Trade hosted a meeting in the Spring Hill Bank Directors room to discuss building the Nashville interurban road. Committees were formed on Right of Way Reception Power Plant and an invitation extended to President Mayberry and associates to visit and hear Spring Hill claims. Mayberry and Hirsch met the board the next afternoon. residents expressed willingness to grant free right of way and favor opening the town street to the road.
