Negro Preacher Charged With Serious Offense
Bart Johnson, a black preacher from Spring Hill, was jailed Monday on a charge of statutory rape involving a girl under sixteen. A warrant was served by Officer Good. Marehall Agent, a white man from Rally HM, was arrested by Deputy Glenn Momlay on three charges of selling alcohol to minors and was brought to Columbia for detention. Anniversary of Bloody Angle Remembrance in Maury County
Forty four years after the June 27 1864 Dead Angle fight in the Georgia campaign the First Tennessee Infantry earned glory as Federals charged the line. Volunteers Billy Graham and Bob Holmes rolled the chevous de frise and carried an unmasked prisoner before Graham was killed days later. Holmes survived the war and lies near Santa Fe after serving with Joe Johnson in North Carolina.

Court sustains cow ordinance ruling in city favor
