J H Moore of Maury county living near Godwin was found Not Guilty in Cumberland county Ky on charges of misappropriating Louisville and Nashville railroad funds while serving as Cross Tie Agent. The verdict, delivered about 1:30 pm Tuesday, drew wide approval from Moore's friends and Cumberland county residents after a trial that began Friday.

An eleven car Western Governors Special train will depart St. Paul for a twenty day trip to twenty one eastern and midwestern cities. Covering nearly 4000 miles, the tour aims to bring the east and west closer together as governors and prominent men visit business groups and cities with a combined population exceeding 12.5 million.

Dr. Z D Massey of Sevierville launched his bid for the Republican nomination in the First District at Rutledge Tennessee. He addressed six to seven hundred voters focused on Congressman Sells record and predicted securing Grainger county delegation backing for the Greeneville convention in February. Judge G M Henderson introduced Massey as campaign manager.
Hayes reports strong mule trade on Monday selling thirty head to R B Shuman of Monticello Florida two head to A J Sanders and one to W B Burnett and buying twenty eight on the streets He conducts business at his new stable on North Main Street.
A young man returned a marriage license unexecuted after asking for it on Monday saying he might not land her. He appeared Saturday, sought the license with a request not to publish, then was ordered from the house when he went for the girl Sunday. The license had been tendered twice previously and was again returned unused.
J. P. Brownlow sold 105 acres on the Mt. Pleasant pike near Cotulla to Frank Leonhardt for 13000 dollars. Brownlow plans to move to Oklahoma with his family. He is praised as a banker farmer and Civil War veteran. The sale was through Diocker & Co.
