Toms lawsuit set for settlement
A string of lawsuits after the 1998 sale of Toms Sierra to Sierra Energy may settle. The Aug. 6 2003 filing seeks final approval at 10 am Nov. 17 2003 in Sacramento. Judge Peter Nowinski will oversee the hearing and the ESOP plan issues.

Colfax State Preschool Opens Free Program for 3-4 Year Olds
At Colfax State Preschool, 3-4 year olds learn ABCs and 1-2-3s through art, puzzles, music, and talks. The state sponsored program runs Fridays 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Sierra Vista Community Center with site supervisor Joyce Roskelley and assistant Karine Arroyo. Enrollment remains open with space for 11 more children.
