NID reviews gravel removal lease with Chevreaux at Bear River site
Nevada Irrigation District directors revisited a proposed lease allowing removal of gravel and materials from NID land above Rollins Reservoir. Environmental studies will be revised and recirculated for agency and community comment. The lease, in effect since 1999, aims to prevent material from washing into the reservoir. Saturday work only, with minimal noise and lighting. Local residents voiced support, while nearby owner Bill Butte disputed NID ownership of mineral rights, though title searches support NID.
