NID study outlines funding options for future water system upkeep
Nevada Irrigation District directors explored financing approaches at a Feb. 25 workshop to preserve reserves while funding a list of more than 150 projects through 2008. The $45 million five year plan includes repairs, storage, and treatment upgrades, with relicensing costs for the Yuba Bear project estimated well above current reserves. The board discussed mixed funding using reserves and certificates of participation but took no action, planning another session later this year.
