On January 2 directors of the Placer County Water Agency agreed to a one year sale of up to 20 000 acre feet of surplus surface water to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for 200 000 dollars option payment and 90 dollars per acre foot. The transfer could bring PCWA up to 2 million dollars while using water from the Middle Fork American River Project with no adverse effect on current customers.
