Cokeville plans a major Fourth of July event with Montpelier bands, a bowery dance, and baseball showdowns between Bancroft and Montpelier teams. Ruth Roberts Weds Fred Schermerhorn in Denver

Schermerhorn Roberts Word reports Ruth Roberts married Fred Schermerhorn in Denver last Monday. He formerly worked as an operator at the local station and now holds a position in Carlin New. Ruth studied in Denver and worked as a stenographer in a major store. They plan to pass through Nevada and hope to visit Cokeville friends on the way home. The community extends congratulations and best wishes.

Miss Goldie Roberts Weds Sneddon In Salt Lake

Miss Goldie Roberts and Thomas M Sneddon wed in Salt Lake last Thursday and plan a Long Beach visit. Roberts, a Cokeville favorite, and Sneddon, son of Thos R Sneddon of Diamondville, are off for a time together after their brief telegram announced marriage.

In Diamondville last Saturday evening about 15 Republican committeemen with proxies met to discuss campaign matters. The meeting followed a call by Donald McAllister secretary and proceeded to hear the committee’s report and other business.

Rates Are Excessive Overcharge on Wool Refunded

A Washington dispatch reports the Interstate Commerce Commission ruled freight rates on wool shipments from western states to eastern markets excessive. Railroads must refund thousands of dollars with interest to wool growers in Wyoming Utah Nebraska Idaho Colorado New Mexico and Montana. Western interstate routes west of the Rockies will not pay the regular through rate to the Pacific coast for east to west traffic due to competition with water routes around Cape Horn or via the Panama Canal.
