Trustees of Park Beach plan to seek vesting of trusteeship in Dorrigo Shire Council to enable borrowing for upgrades. A busy year sees playgrounds miniature train shade trees more tables and cleaner grounds. The store and ladies sheds are under construction as funds allow the trustees note.
District Dairy Officer H Harison reports November began discouraging with deteriorating pastures and hot winds but rains improved conditions across Clarence Coffs Harbour Bellinger River. Stock and production show improvement potential though cream quality suffers from poor cleaning and rubber ware issues. A vigorous inspection campaign is planned.
Predecessors show concern for welfare and improvement of the Re serve at heart. They devote time to its affairs which could be spent elsewhere. They face criticism from some who join movements to better conditions for off residents. Critics must admit notable improvement at Park Beach and current trustees have contributed their share.
Nambucca Shire Council urged the Railway Department to extend the Kempsey Mail Train to Coffs Harbour and to make Macksville a regular stop for the second Express division. The council also asked for four sleeping berths on the train and the North Coast Mail for Macksville passengers, usable only if booked three days ahead. Objections were raised to passengers boarding at Strathfield and Hornsby for southbound travel, overtaxing accommodation.
