Cobram Branch Holds Annual Meeting Electing Veterans to Posts
The Cobram Returned Services subbranch held its annual meeting at Mechanics Hall with officers re elected. Barooga Electrical Extension Completes Rural Network
Mr N J Carter reported the Barooga rural electric extension to Backhouse and Johnson properties was completed with service at 4 p.m. December 18 1949. The project added two pole type substations, three 7 064 mile conductors, 23 poles, insulation and ironwork, plus low tension mains to supply the homes. Six new lights and one power outlet were installed for Rev Dobbler tonn of England Minister Berrigan. Reconditioning included a two phase service at Mr Grover’s home and several pole rectifications and voltage services for Metis Scott Tocumr and others.

Mrs Robina Zito, widow of Hosina Zito, passed away at Ee base hospital on Monday January 1. The late Mrs Zito hailed from Dominica and is survived by relatives in Cobram. The funeral arrangements are pending.
