Obituary Charles Jones of Berri gan and Finley roots

Charles Jones died at Cob ram Hospital on Thursday aged about 77. Eldest son of the late Evan and Mrs Jones, he lived much of his life in Finley and later at Berri gan. Survived by his wife two sons Chiff and Ron and two daughters Clarice and Roma.

Lawn Tennis Courts Being Prepared

Victorian horticultural officers report Bryobia mite damaged some apple and pear varieties last season causing reduced vigor and fruitfulness. Look for bronzy yellow leaves and early leaf fall, check for pink eggs at spur bases, and apply dormant oil in winter to kill eggs. Five gallons oil per 100 gallons water is effective and also reduces Woolly aphid on apples.

Victorian fishermen rejected the idea of a barra couta marketing board after a July 25 poll showed only 41.8 percent in favor. Under the Marketing of Primary Products Acts the board requires at least 60 percent support to be constituted.

Old and New Come Together in Cobram Community Social
