The First Frost Hits Local Area

Death of Mrs Mollie Quarrels at Greencastle Sorority House
Mrs Mollie Quarrels, a cook for the Alpha Omricron Pi sorority house in Greencastle, died at her home last Thursday evening after suffering a stroke of paralysis while preparing dinner. She was found by a resident and died about fifteen minutes later.

Flora Belle Snider was arrested Friday on a warrant charging receiving stolen goods. Postal supplies found buried near her Commercial Place home were linked to the case. Narrowly Averted Collision Near Green Castle Crossing
An east bound traction car halted just before a collision with a Greencastle physician's touring car at Almeda crossing. The auto was stopped on the crossing, with the physician and his wife aboard. the train had two cement cars behind it and barely avoided a fatal crash.

A Thanksgiving market was planned and a clothing donation to Near East Relief discussed. Guests Mrs. Mark and Mrs. Shields were asked to present the idea to Baptist and Methodist societies.
