Fatal fall at quarry left Reed dead near Vandalia tracks
Fred Reed an A. and C Stone and Lime Company engineer fell from a roof tank in the quarry building and died hours later. He was alone at the time, found after the fall with a skull fracture. Shoulder Dislocation Report From Danville Area
Mr. Charlie Hodges of near Danville dislocated his shoulder about ten days ago while attempting to jump a horse. His father assisted as a physician and reset the joint. Hodges recovered, reporting the socket pop as it went back in and noting the pain frightened him briefly. He was in Coatesville last Saturday and is improving.

Frank Royalty editor of the Wingate News was killed near Mellott four miles from Wingate last Monday while attempting to board a freight train. He was 54, left a wife and two children.
