Memorial day observances by the All American post of the American Legion were held at the Methodist church and local cemetery. Frank Davidson led the program with a welcome, Lincoln’s Gettysburg address was read, Rev. H A Davis spoke on Americanism, and graves of American soldiers in France were decorated with flags at a cost of 30000 dollars amidst patriotic songs and special music.

Making Good Time on Fred Cunningham Road Trains
The Fred Cunningham road company trains on the Fred Cunningham road line to the National road made four trips each Saturday hauling fifteen cars of rock per trip. One train completed a trip in one hour thirty five minutes the fastest time yet. After washouts from recent wet weather the section men leveled the track and restored safe passage. Each car carries a yard and a half of rock totaling 180 yards hauled Saturday.

Hearse collision damages Hanna and Huffman vehicle

Runaway Westbound Interurban Car Through Coatesville
A west bound interurban car after leaving Greencastle ran wild on steep grades near Coatesville last Thursday evening due to air control failure. The motorman and conductor Green and Roby halted the speeding car with improvised wheel checks, stopping it after six miles and then guiding it to a siding for assistance. Roby is the brother in law of Rev. C. N. McBrayer. both are well known locally.

Fractured Forehead Injury in Gosport Car Crash
Mrs. C. F. Hope sustained a fractured forehead Sunday evening near Gosport after a car struck a deep washout in heavy rain. She was thrown from the rear seat onto the back of the front seat, received treatment at Gosport, then Martinsville hotel, and returned to Coatesville Monday.

Grant O Neal 57 long respected Fillmore resident died Saturday at home after two months with Brights disease. A devoted member of the Methodist church he leaves a wife and five children, two married. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 30 p m and he was buried in Fillmore Cemetery.
