Funeral for Amo High School student Garrett

Garrett born Coatesville June 23 1897 died February 22 at age 14 years 7 months and 2% days. He was a member of the Amo high school and his funeral at the Methodist church drew classmates and teachers in a body. The service was led by Rev C O Smock with Rev F G Scott and the crowd filled the church and crowded cemetery vault near his home. The obituary recalls his courage through illness and the faith he found in his final days and notes he will be remembered in dreams and prayers as he rests in peace.

Calendar Club meets at M. E. Church discusses new members

The Calendar Club met at the M. E. Church Wednesday afternoon with twenty six members and several visitors. Three ladies joined the club, and a committee of Mrs J Bo Gambold Mrs C D Knight and Mrs HEBE Hathaway was formed to buy an individual communion set for the next service. Mrs Rhoda McAnish served luncheon and the next meeting is set for March 27 at Mrs W C Gilbert. We sell Perfection Flour at pacts persack Davis Johnson.

Thimble Club Holds Holiday Meeting With Guests

The Thimble Club met with Fannie Marks Tuesday afternoon. Fourteen members answered roll call with guests Mrs Amanda Marshall of Danville and Mrs Roxie Monnett. The group enjoyed costumes, decorations in national colors, a Washington birthday souvenir prize to Mary Bryant, refreshments, and ribbon favors.

The Present Day Club met with Mrs. Rh C Knight on February 22. Flora Hodson presented a prepared paper on Washington's life and Rose Draper described life at Valley Forge. Members sang America, enjoyed five contests, and fruit sandwiches and cocoa.
