Firefighters extinguish 2nd alarm blaze in Laguna Niguel duplex

Firefighters battled a two story duplex on Via Reata in Laguna Niguel with a second alarm. Crews reported flames visible through the roof at 12:38 a.m. and had the fire out by 1:02 a.m. No injuries reported and the cause remains under investigation.

Microchip to buy Microsemi for 8.35 billion dollars

Microchip Technology will acquire Microsemi of Washington DC for about 8.35 billion dollars paying 68.78 per share in cash. The deal requires Microsemi shareholder approval and is expected to close in the second quarter.
