Beach wheelchair gifts aids San Clemente lifeguards
San Clemente Ocean Festival presented a nearly $3000 beach wheelchair to the city lifeguards at Marine Safety Headquarters near the San Clemente Pier. The new chair aids sand navigation and will supplement an older lifeguard model as the festival funds provided the donation.

Rescue crew spots drifting craft off Capistrano Beach
Dana Point observers aboard the Orca operated by Dave's Dolphin Safari rescued a woman and checked a drifting personal watercraft 200 feet deep off Beach Road in Capistrano Beach at about 1 30 p m A Newport Beach family chartered the vessel for a dolphin and whale watching trip. Captain Marie Clark Laguna Beach said the rescuer used binoculars and spotted the craft without a dive flag.
