Dr. Horatio Hickman of Terre Haute married Miss Blanche Hupp at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Hupp on Walnut and 4th. Rev. The bride wore white silk and carried roses with Mary Hupp playing the wedding march.

Clinton Commercial Club discussion centers on expanding from the Young Business Men's Club with 27 members to include all citizens favoring a greater Clinton. The Lawyer Evangelist L F Coad and Mr Frank F Lindgren have been engaged to start revival meetings at the M B Church on Sept 15. Their past work in other cities is cited as evidence of potential moral and spiritual uplift for Clinton. Services aim to be Christian and non sectarian and open to all to worship and assist.
Former Clintonite Guy Hart son of Covington Indiana public schools superintendent Wiliam P Hart married Edna Lexan last Friday in Fort Pierre South Dakota. Hart has spent three to four years in the Northwest and previously worked in the western Indiana newspaper business.
Isaac McWade of McKeen and Belle Berry of Charleston were married last Sunday at the bride’s sister Mrs. William Erwin’s residence. The bride is sister to Lafe Berry. They plan to reside in McKeen, Texas where the home is described as comfortable.
Next Monday is Labor Day with no special demonstrations in Clinton this year. Batchette will be a game of ball at Morris Park in the afternoon and many Clinton businesses will close at one o clock.
On Wednesday forenoon local firemen responded to a car fire at the home of Paul Duellas on North 9th street. An explosion from a gasoline stove caused the flare up but the damage remained slight.
The Hoosier transfer reform changes tuition accounting as pupils move between townships. The receiving township must report transfers to the county auditor who credits the recipient and debits the origin. For intercounty transfers the report goes to the state superintendent.
The infant Myrtle Crothers daughter of Mr and Mrs Jack Crothers died August 24 1907 at 1030 pm aged one year four months and 77 days. Interment was in Lodi. The family thanks friends for their help during her illness.
A fire at the Oak Hill stable owned by Dering Coal Co at the Oak Hill mine destroyed the building and fifteen mules, bushels of vats, and hay. Origin unknown but suspected incendiary as Clinton faces barn burning incidents. Mrs. John Wagner returns from Iowa.
