Shelby L. Richardson of Clifton has been named vice president of Clifton Bank. He will handle installment, home improvement and mortgage loans and brings more than 20 years in Dallas Tyler and Bosque County banking and real estate. He has held multiple senior posts at Hillscrest Wynnewood State Banks Central Bank and Trust Farmers Branch Bosque County Bank and worked as a broker appraiser and investment adviser. He is SMU graduate and has civic roles with Rotary YMCAs and other groups.

Clifton CHS classes 36 37 38 plan reunion

Social Security Checks Move to Friday Delivery

Social security checks normally due on the third of the month will be delivered on Fridays when the third falls on a weekend. Froster Al Bracken in Waco says the policy applies to bank deposits as well and aims to eliminate delays in cashing checks.

Speed limits set on State Highway 6 into Clifton

Clifton lowers city limits to 45 mph from 17th Street to 9th Street and 35 mph from 9th Street to Live Oak while 30 mph on Live Oak to Maple and 35 mph Maple to Clifton city limits with 55 mph outside. Signs were installed Thursday and drivers from Meridian should read the limits in reverse order.

Clifton volunteers fight sporadic rural fires on weekend

Clifton Volunteer Fire Department handled several small blazes this weekend. A cair fire on South Ave J on September 18 was already extinguished before arrival. A tractor fire at Thompson turkey ranch drew crews on Saturday. A grass fire at Jimmy Jones property on State Highway 6 occurred Sunday.
