Copperhead Found in Clifton Store Ends with Heroic Kill
A copperhead slithered into Service Drug Store in Clifton last Friday morning prompting staff and customers to react. Employee Lee Larson mistook it for a toy, while Herman Landou, sipping coffee, initially kicked it before killing the about 18 inch snake with a hoe provided by owner Martha Ludtke. This marks the second downtown Clifton copperhead sighting after one was killed at Otis Olson’s Mobil Service Station.
